Religion...

'Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.' [anonymous - quoted by Badri Raina in 'Analyse this - 'Piety and religiosity are not guarantee against wrongdoing' in the OP-ED page of the Hindu, Thursday, September 6, 2012]

Religions have much to safeguard for themselves than the claims they put forward for their so-called followers. No religion was found by the so-called founders, but by their unworthy followers who wanted to exploit the good will and charism of the propounder of the new 'way.' They first try to confine god to their whims and fancies in the very name of god himself. Gods are almost prisoners of religions and that is being justified by the so-called scriptures which even that gods won't dare to change or challenge for that matter.

Gods should be more than the air, rain and shine which is so universal. But the pity is that they are taken hold of by a sect, small or bigger and in their names wars are fought and people are killed and property destroyed. How come gods have name and form for that matter! Why at all gods should incarnate? If at all they incarnated they lived lives which no religion upholds.

Religions have caused enough damage to the history and heritage of mankind. It is a power tool invented so ingeniusly. It seems to be an opium without which the poor can't manage, in spite of its burdening trend and tendencies.
