'First ever blessing!'

Dear Camy and Dany,

Congratulations!

You are blessed
to become parents now!

This is the first ever
blessing in the Bible:
“Be fruitful and multiply…”

In His great providence,
God has given men and women
a share in his creative power!
And now you two are made
instruments in this divine activity.

On this great day
let me quote for you
a great verse from
Kannadasan’s ‘Yesu Kaaviyam’:
“Aandoru pillai aayiram peralaam;
Yesuvai pola innoru pillai
Isanai kette ini pera vendum.”

Yes, let the child conceived
be the one God willed
for you and the world!

May God give you both
necessary grace to give birth
to a child like Jesus
who ‘increased in wisdom
and in stature, and
in favour with God and man.’

May you be praised
like the mother/father of Jesus:
‘Blessed is the womb that bore you…’

Be mindful of your great call
to become parents and live accordingly
to welcome God’s most precious gift
to you and to the world.

Hereafter let your thoughts
and even feelings be
as pure as possible.

Let no negative thoughts
even cross your mind.
Be positive and happy
so that the child may take
the world little more closer
to a better future.

Read good books,
listen good music
and see good films
and pictures as well
as eat good food,
sleep well and
certainly have enough
exercises, preferably work at home.

We are all praying for you both
and the sweet child to visit us all
in due time.

May God bless you both
and child conceived.

Expectantly,

maaman.

A dream come true like...

People seemingly thought that i was an advocate! At last in the 'Sunday Shalom' of 19.02.2012, Mr. Jerald Miranda compiling his interview with me on Justice Sunday, introduced me as advocate fr. pancretius, parish priest, assumption church, thycaud!

And that seemed to be a wish which got realized yesterday when along with some 243 of LL. B graduates i enrolled myself as an advocate in the Kerala State Bar Council at the Kerala High Court auditorium at about 12.15 p.m. The Enrollment ceremony was presided by the Bar Council President and Mr. K. M. Joseph, Justice at the Kerala High Court was the chief guest who presented us with the Enrollment Certificate. And officially i became an advocate, though the enrollment number will only be send to us after a day or two by post.

Today went to Advocate Celine Wilfred's office as junior along with my friend Mr. Mohan Kumar. She is one of the senior most advocates of Trivandrum Bar Council and was the Government Pleader for almost 15 years, even in the Left Government. She is one of the leading criminal lawyers here. She asked us to go on Wednesday, 12th September to sign and submit 'Vakkalat.' That indeed was a good news for both of us.

However, we wanted to enter some court today itself and went to the Chief District and Sessions Court, but the court seemed to have been wound up. Hence went to the I Addl. District and Sessions Court presided by Ms. K. P. Indira. It was at about 12.45 p.m.

I must strive my best to get justice done to the otherwise unprivileged and under privileged ones, as justice seemed to be God's concern always and everywhere. No one should be denied of justice, especially the poor and the exploited. May i get enough strength to help and guide people to avail justice in time for 'justice denied is justice delayed.' May each and everyone who enrolled today and all the advocates all over, be an effective instrument in the hands of goddess of justice to bring about justice and thereby peace and prosperity.

Besides this we have also registered for LL. M at the MG university as distant education students.

Religion...

'Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.' [anonymous - quoted by Badri Raina in 'Analyse this - 'Piety and religiosity are not guarantee against wrongdoing' in the OP-ED page of the Hindu, Thursday, September 6, 2012]

Religions have much to safeguard for themselves than the claims they put forward for their so-called followers. No religion was found by the so-called founders, but by their unworthy followers who wanted to exploit the good will and charism of the propounder of the new 'way.' They first try to confine god to their whims and fancies in the very name of god himself. Gods are almost prisoners of religions and that is being justified by the so-called scriptures which even that gods won't dare to change or challenge for that matter.

Gods should be more than the air, rain and shine which is so universal. But the pity is that they are taken hold of by a sect, small or bigger and in their names wars are fought and people are killed and property destroyed. How come gods have name and form for that matter! Why at all gods should incarnate? If at all they incarnated they lived lives which no religion upholds.

Religions have caused enough damage to the history and heritage of mankind. It is a power tool invented so ingeniusly. It seems to be an opium without which the poor can't manage, in spite of its burdening trend and tendencies.

Mony, you too are leaving...

Mony, how sudden and unexpected
was your bidding farewell for ever!
After the 'shocking' experience
you had with your beloved mother
on account of your siblings,
you kept away from the village
you were born and the village
you and your family adapted!

Thereafter you confined yourself
with your wife and children
in the new place of your choice.

You toiled for your family
and could see that both of
your sons are educated enough
and at least one of them
employed comfortably.

Times could not heal the wounds
inflicted on you and
you seemingly lived on the pains
of that 'shocking' experience
never ever to get reunited
with your mother and siblings,
even at the death of your
beloved mother!

And now, you have left for ever
leaving a vacuum which will
never be filled...

We grew as if like brothers
and i was given the privilege of
your best friend by your parents
so as to 'lead' you safely!

Somehow, you were more keen
on everything other than studies.
May be that it was the natural
consequence of your father's
addiction with alcohol and the
entire burden of upkeep of
everything on your mother and
the slow deterioration of the
family and all its wealth...

We met few months back at
the marriage of Natheesha,
the daughter of my cousin
Raju who left us all
almost an year ago...

We parted on that day with
the assurance to meet again,
especially on your son's
expected marriage one
of the days to come soon.

While waiting for such
an invitation, was shocked
with the heartbreaking news
of your death which was
indeed so cruel and untimely.

May your good soul
rest in peace and
may your loving children
and beloved wife be
comforted and consoled
for the days to come.

Good bye, Mony, my dear
rest ever in the peace of
the Lord you believed
all through...

Where can one find the real Jesus?

Packiam, the archbishop of our diocese seems to be a simple man. But he wants and wields in fact unlimitted power. He seems to think that being accountable and transparent is less powerful! He seems not at all familiar with 'Jesus before Christianity!' He only knows, rather doesn't want to know that unadulterated Jesus. He is familiar and comfortable with the Jesus presented by the church, a bye product of Constantine's so called conversion! The Jesus who came 'not to be served, but to serve' is not the Jesus of this church! In this church every one projects himself with all titles beginning from the 'reverend' to  'excellency', 'grace' and 'holiness' and Jesus is conveniently ignored. They do not know the greatness of John the baptist who let Jesus grow and himself be diminished. When people asked: are you the one to come, he could tell them clearly that he was no the one and introduced Jesus instead!
Young priests are fascinated by authority, position and possession with higher study mania having no regard ever for being holy, honest, just and humble. Getting every benefit from the people, they couch on the back of the people neve letting them free! They project a God quite different from the one introduced by Jesus. This God need to be placated with offerings and other servile homages. Love has no place, love which has no fear or any other inhibition...

Can’t be a dead fish to be carried along the current…

More than half of my life had been in the ‘priestly’ costume/mask! Not even for a single day could be comfortable with nor could get compromised with that! However, I did enjoy being with the people and doing my little mite in empowering them as a self-esteemed and free people.
‘Church’ first of all was not a concept of Jesus, as ‘temple’ was not that of the people of God and their prophets! Temple as opposed to the ‘ark’ was a compulsion for David to justify his palace. So also church as opposed to the ‘way’ the disciples were familiar with to enjoy and ensure the crumbs of authority thrown out to the elders with the feudal titles.
As the grain of wheat need to die out to yield fruit whether it be thirty, sixty or hundred fold or even to become bread or the like, so also the son of man gave up himself to be raised in glory. The ‘reign’ of God announced by Jesus won’t be a reality till the church dies out to give birth to that reign.
The church always enjoyed the fire place of security and never ever can live the life of the son of man who has no place to lay down his head. He always enjoyed the freedom of the children of God and the beauty of the birds of the air and the lilies of the field. The strength of Jesus was his vulnerability in solidarity with so many of his brethren and his being empty (kenosis) before his Father.
This Jesus who was so familiar and friendly challenged me ever, as the self-seeking and protective church agitated me. It built up theology to suit all its greed beginning from justifying idolatry to enslaving the children of God. In the place of the ‘friendly’ relation propounded by Jesus, church projected the ‘servant-lord’ relations! Jesus’ terminologies are not only not comfortable, but are threatening to the church.

Satellite abandoned…!

Satellite abandoned…!
Yes, it all began
So innocently!
Few years behind
Closeness seemed sprouting!
Sensing it in spite,
Nothing was done to prevent,
Expecting nothing untoward!
No sooner than
The happily arranged union,
Came the devastating separation!
Meetings let happen
To be of support and solace
To the lonely traveler
Even at odd times!
At one such odd time
The territory was violated
With no resistance or
Grief later even!
In spite of realizing the risk
It continued unabated
To reach a kind of orbit
Around the big star!
Instead being thankful
The satellite now feels
Abandoned when the star
Moves away slowly and steadily
And happily it seems!
You the lonely star
Shine brighter and brighter
Preferring your own satellites
And forming a family of
Life, love and care.
